On the Same Mat

Train Together as a Family

Between school, work, and screens, time together can feel rare. Storm family classes give your family one positive activity - outside the house - where everyone is moving, learning, and cheering each other on.

Parents and kids train side by side on the same mat. You earn belts together, work through challenges together, and walk out feeling closer than when you walked in.

Storm instructors are friendly and experienced at teaching students of different ages at the same time. Every class is staffed with enough coaches so every family member gets real attention - not a one-size-fits-all workout.

Parents + Kids

Can parents and kids take taekwondo together?

Parents tell us they came to Storm looking for one activity that actually brings the family closer — not another drop-off, not another screen. Family classes deliver exactly that.

Family Bonding

Shared experience on the mat builds the kind of memories that don't happen at the sidelines.

Real Fitness

A full-body workout for parents while kids burn off energy in a structured, positive way.

Confidence

Belt promotions, small wins, and visible progress give everyone a reason to feel proud.

Discipline & Respect

Habits learned on the mat — focus, respect, follow-through — carry into school and home.

Shared Goals

Working toward the same belt or technique gives families something positive to talk about every week.

Outside-the-House Activity

Trade an evening of screens for a healthy, energetic activity you actually do together.

Beginner-Friendly

No experience required — for parents or kids. Most family students start from zero.

Supportive Coaching

Classes staffed with multiple instructors so every family member gets real attention.

How much does it cost to put your kid in taekwondo?

Tuition is quoted on the free week — we do not post a fake monthly rate here. Call 517-220-0621. Family class is one option; kids-only and Mini Troopers are others.

Does a family taekwondo class replace a kids-only class?

No. Family class is for parents and kids on the same mat. Kids-only still exists for ages 6+ and Mini Troopers for ages 3–5. Ask which slot fits when you book the trial.
